Friday 10th of August 2012 afternoon/evening (4:30-6:00 pm) Sprint (NOL Race 1 of Round 4) Casuarina Campus and Dripstone Cliffs (existing map by Lachlan Hallett). 7 km by road northwest of airport. Course Setter: Trevor Paynter Controller: Jenny Casanova A standard urban sprint held in a large university campus. The campus contains some areas of native bushland and is adjacent to sand dune terrain. The sprint would predominantly be in built up sections of the campus with some legs entering the other areas. |

Saturday 11th of August 2012 evening/night Two different events will be offered at the same venue. Competitors wishing to compete as official NOL competitors in the night event will not be permitted to compete in the score event. Other competitors can compete in either event or even do both if they wish. Afternoon Score event + easy course (5:00-6:00 pm) Mass start score event. Night event (7:00-7:40 pm) (NOL Race 2 of Round 4) Mass start night event with splitting. Courses to be set to ~3/4 of middle distance winning times. Course setter: Lachlan Hallett Controller: Adrian Uppill Lok Cabay (remap by Lachlan Hallett to ISSOM specifications at 1:5000 of a 2005 Kevin Vigar map). 90 km by road south of Darwin/airport. The area is comprised of a flat plain containing several complex outcrops of large (3-15 m wide, 2-5 m high) stromatolite (rock) formations spread over 2 km2. |

Sunday 12th of August 2012 morning (8:00 -10:00 am) Long distance race with some butterfly loops. (NOL Race 3 of Round 4) Elites to start two at a time to enable whole field to be started and finished before it gets hot. Rum Jungle (Existing but as yet unused map by Eric Andrews). Adjacent Lok Cabay, 90 km by road south of Darwin/airport. Course setter: Susanne Casanova Controller: Adrian Uppill Gently rolling spur gully with extensive sections of bare rock. This area is bound by a ridge of moderately steep spur gully with many rock features which then gives way into flats with numerous termite mounds (up to 6 m) where the map joins to the stromatolites of the Lok Cabay map. |
